Scientific areas

Department of Pharmaceutical Technology of Drugs of the NUPh has its own glorious traditions and certain priority scientific directions. These directions are based on the fundamental pharmaceutical school, the development of which is associated with such prominent figures as prof. Cheshvili I.P., prof. Shulman F.S., prof. Krasovsky M.P., prof. Kovalov S.G., prof. Shubin S.F., prof. Pivnenko G.P., prof. Salo D.P., prof. Pertsev I.P., assoc. prof. R.K. Chagovets, acad. Tykhonov O.I., prof. Tykhonova S.O., prof. Polovko N.P., prof. L.I. Vyshnevska, who successfully managed the department in different years.

SCIENTIFIC DIRECTIONS OF THE DEPARTMENT OF PHARMACEUTICAL TECHNOLOGY OF DRUGS ACCORDING TO WHICH THE TOPICS OF QUALIFICATION WORKS ARE FORMED

  • Development of the composition, technology and biopharmaceutical research of medicinal products based on natural and synthetic raw materials (state registration number 0114U000945).
  • Creation of homeopathic medicines (state registration number 0114U000962).

Active work on the development of medicinal products based on raw materials of natural and synthetic origin is carried out at the department.

One of the main scientific directions of the department’s activity is creation of the composition and technology of biologically active substances and medicinal products of natural and synthetic origin.

The importance of conducting scientific research in this aspect is related to the fact that in terms of their pharmacological activity, medicinal products of natural origin are not inferior to synthetic analogues, and, thanks to a balanced complex of biologically active substances, they have a beneficial effect on the human body with almost no side effects. Therefore, the search and introduction of new domestic drugs based on natural biologically active complexes is relevant for the pharmaceutical industry of Ukraine.

In order to ensure an effective therapeutic effect on various links of pathological processes, it is relevant and expedient to create innovative combined medicinal products based on synthetic and natural products that do not have pronounced side effects, and most importantly, substances that are harmless to human health, especially with long-term use.

In particular, the scientific developments of the department include “Metroxal” cream, “Artproment” gel, “Cryobiozol” aerosol, “Gretavosk” tincture, “Holofit” herbal syrup, “Flavosterol” cream-mask, “Flavosterol” gel-mask, “Urticia” gel-mask, complex tincture “Stymufit”, oil extract “Korenefit”, coated tablets “AP-helmin”, chewable lozenges “Albenpast”, hard capsules “Fitohelmin”, veterinary cream with sapropel extracts, drops and species for correction of the climacteric syndrome, herbal species complex for the treatment of mastopathy, pencil (balm) with an oil extract of a mixture of plant raw material and mango extract, etc.

The next scientific direction of the department’s work is Creation of homeopathic medicines.

Global practice in the field of health care shows an increase in the consumption and range of homeopathic medicines. This, in turn, stimulates the development of homeopathy and the active formation of the regulatory and legal framework in Ukraine. In addition to the unconditional effectiveness of the effect, homeopathic medicines have several advantages over synthetic medicines: they do not cause addiction and pharmacological dependence; do not reveal an allergic effect on the body due to the use of extremely small doses of the active substance and do not provoke the occurrence of side effects reduced to a minimum. It is worth noting that several important issues related to various aspects of homeopathy, in particular legal and issues related to the technology of homeopathic medicines, their quality control and standardization, remain open. All this encourages active research work, which will have practical significance for the population of Ukraine.

Training of academic staff
